To assist families, Eton offers childcare both before and after school and during Midwinter and Spring Breaks. Students who are attending Childcare must be signed in and out by a parent or authorized adult. 

Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases, we are beginning with Childcare in the student’s classroom this school year. Parents/Guardians are to drop off/pick up their child at their classroom door. If during the year things improve regarding COVID-19, this may change, and we will notify families.

Before- and After-School Childcare

The use of childcare on a regular day does not require registration. It is available to all students and located in the designated Childcare Room.

Standard Day Hours

Before-School: 8:00 a.m. to the Start of Class

After School: End of Class until 5:00 p.m.

Early Dismissal Hours

Before-School: 8:00 a.m. to the Start of Class

After School: Closed

Midwinter Break (21-25 February 2022 ) and Spring Break (11-15 April 2022)

Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The use of childcare during the breaks requires pre-registration, which closes at 7:00 a.m. on the Thursday before the break. It is open and available to all students.
 

2021-2022 Childcare Rates 

Before- and After-School

• $15.00 per hour per student
• $700.00 maximum per student per month (excluding breaks) 
• $2.00 per minute per student for any student remaining beyond 5:00 p.m.

Midwinter and Spring Breaks

• $15.00 per hour per student
• No maximum per student per month
• $2.00 per minute per student for any student remaining beyond 5:00 p.m.
   

Complimentary Childcare

Childcare is complimentary to families with multiple students across levels during arrival and dismissal times according to the following guidelines.

Before-School Childcare

Childcare is complimentary for younger siblings from the oldest sibling’s arrival time until arrival begins. For example, a family with a student in Upper Elementary/Middle School and a student in Pre-elementary may drop off the older student at the Upper Elementary/Middle School arrival time of 8:10 am and then sign the younger one into Childcare. The time between sign-in for the younger sibling and 8:45 a.m. is complimentary.

After-School Childcare

Childcare is complimentary for younger siblings starting from their dismissal time until the dismissal time of the oldest sibling when the oldest sibling is at school, and both are picked up by the end of the older sibling’s dismissal time. For example, a family with a Pre-elementary student and a Middle School student receive complimentary Childcare for the Pre-elementary student from their dismissal to the Middle School’s dismissal time if both are picked up by 3:40 p.m.
 

Electronic Clock in/Out

An electronic clock is used to check in/out students and for billing. Parents/Guardians or authorized persons/staff use their unique PINs provided by the school to check their students in/out of Childcare. Parents/Guardians may view their PIN at any time on the Family Information Form available via the Parent Portal inResonance Family Access Module link.

If an authorized person other than the parent needs to pick up a student, Eton School can provide a unique PIN for the person as long as they are listed in the student’s record for authorized pickup.

Your child will eat lunch in the classrooms between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on a regular school day. Your child's teacher will share the exact time with you when school starts in the fall.

When packing lunch for your child, the meals provided must meet the nutritional requirements as recommended by the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (WAC 110-300-0190):

• A dairy product such as milk, cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese;
• A serving of meat or a meat alternative such as beef, fish, poultry, legumes, tofu, or beans;
• A grain product such as bread, cereal, bagel, or rice cake;
• Fruits or vegetables as in 2 fruits or 2 vegetables or one fruit and 1 vegetable to equal the total portion size required;
• For a drink to qualify as a serving of fruit or vegetable, it must be one hundred percent fruit or vegetable juice;
• And a liquid to drink (water or one of the required components such as milk, fruit or vegetable juice).

Please note that milk and perishables must be in insulated containers with an ice pack. Additionally, please pack the eating utensils needed by your child to eat the meal.

At Eton School, you as the parent/guardian are an active participant in your child's education. Our website plays a vital role in providing and sharing information with you during your child's academic journey.

For privacy and security reasons, a portion of our website is restricted to parents/guardians of enrolled students, and login is required. For new families, login becomes available in Mid-July with notification via email.

Here are the steps to set up your account after Mid-July if you are new to our website and also for current parents who cannot remember their password:

1. Click "Portal Login" in the top right corner of any page.

2. On the login page, click "Forgot Username or Password."

3. Enter your email in the new window and click submit.

4. Check your email for a message and directions to set your password. Please check your junk/spam/clutter folder if it does not arrive within 5 minutes.

5. Follow the directions in the email to create a new password.

6. Use your newly created password along with your username (firstname.lastname) to log in. 

When you see "Welcome" and your name, you are logged in to the Parent Portal. Congratulations!
