We Are Eton

While seeking a hashtag for our social media, we noticed a recurring theme: the personal pronoun “we.” Our core values start with “We at Eton School commit...” and conclude with “We support...” and “We dedicate....” Our community often speaks of Eton School collectively, reinforcing the sense of “we.” This sense of unity and community made “we” the perfect choice.

With the first word chosen, the rest fell into place, and #WeAreEton was born. This hashtag quickly became a staple in our social media posts, serving as descriptors and unifiers. It even transcended social media; one year, a group of parents/guardians won the naming rights to a lane at the Main Building and chose #WeAreEton.

This journey to find the perfect hashtag reflects Eton School’s commitment to its community, mission, and values. Along with the hashtag, we use We Are Eton to encapsulate a name and the essence of who we are—a united community dedicated to holistic education and lifelong learning.

We Are Eton

Mission

In educating the whole child, Eton School inspires creative, confident thinkers who have an enduring passion for learning and are poised to contribute to the world.

We Are Age 3-Grade 8 on Purpose

Often, we hear from families of graduating students that they wish we had continued beyond Grade 8. We appreciate hearing this wish as it is a high level of compliment. We would love to continue to be a part of their child's daily educational journey, yet we cannot, as this is not our purpose.

Our purpose is to educate the whole child from age 3 through Grade 8. We purposefully chose to put Grade 8 as the last year of the educational path we offer. We recognize that by being a school that culminates with Grade 8, our focus is on the journey from Age 3 through Grade 8—from a preschooler to an elementary child and then through the beginning of their adolescence, which is a very sensitive time.

Statement on Diversity

We believe in the worth and dignity of all people.

We learn, reflect, grow, and effect change through dialogue, education, and action.

We foster a community that acts with compassion, embraces discomfort, thinks critically, questions norms, and welcomes the world’s multiple perspectives.

We use our voices, challenge ourselves and others, and stand up for ourselves and others against injustice.

We champion, cultivate, and celebrate all members of our community so that we all participate as our full authentic selves, and thereby become stronger in our shared diversity.

Core Values: A Living Document

Our core values are part of a living document that we review, discuss, and revise (if needed) as a whole group. We do this because not only do we believe in them, we live them!

We at Eton School commit to educate the whole child and honor the diversity of each individual

We support these core values by providing developmentally designed programs and methodologies based on Montessori philosophy and educational research. We dedicate ourselves to lifelong learning.
