Volunteering

Volunteering enriches our program and strengthens connections in the school community. Eton offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities and greatly appreciates it when parents and guardians contribute as they are able. We are also very grateful for the alumni, alumni parents and grandparents who donate their time to Eton supporting school events such as Open Houses.

There are a variety of ways to volunteer in the classroom. These are wonderful opportunities to connect with the teacher and the students, building priceless community. Parents/guardians are welcome to come to the classroom to share about family traditions, holidays, or hobbies. They coordinate with the teacher and room representative to organize activities for these special occasions as well as planning gatherings outside of the classroom.

In Lower elementary classrooms, parents/guardians come in to support learning by doing such things as reading group with students and checking homework packs. Teachers and students at all grade levels enjoy having parents/guardians come in to read stories.

There are opportunities throughout the school year for families to volunteer at much-loved school events such as the World of Eton and Family Game Time.

Parents/guardians have opportunities to support teachers when they take students on field trips. Parents/guardians have opportunities to drive and chaperone the students on these enriching experiences.

Participating in Parents and Guardians of Eton School, PAGES, is another way of volunteering your time and contributing to the Eton community. PAGES organizes events, has monthly meetings, and makes sure that families feel connected to their classroom and to the school.
