After-School Classes & Clubs

Classes

Although the class day ends, opportunities for students to enrich their learning continue. Eton makes its facility available to a variety of outside vendors/instructors for after-school enrichment classes (all grades) and clubs (grades 4-8).

After-School Class registration is online with a lottery system for P3-K classes and a first come, first served basis for K-8 classes. Although not required, we recommend parents log in to eliminate the steps of having to enter their name and email on the form. When the class is full (via lottery or regular registration), a waiting list is created.

The Lower Elementary teachers are offering a Homework Club for students who need a quiet space as well as extra support and motivation to complete homework. Staff will be available to answer questions, remind them of lessons, and provide materials. Parents can sign-up with their child's teacher. They are welcome to bring a snack to help feed their brains.

Location: Room 3

Rate: $12.00/hour, charges will appear as Clubhouse

Upper Elementary (Grades 4-5)

Upper Elementary Homework Club

Home + Work = Homework. This is one of the most famous equations that all students instinctively know, and yet they sometimes have trouble solving it or finding enough time to do so. To help, Eton School is offering a weekly Homework Club for the Upper Elementary students. Fourth- and fifth-grade students can come to Casa III for Homework Club. They will find a relaxed and academic environment where they can catch up or get ahead on their work. Staff will be available to answer questions and encourage everyone as needed (as well as provide a tasty snack). Homework Club is a drop-in service; so while it is nice to know who is coming, there is no need for advanced notice.

Board Game Club

When thinking of board games, many go back to childhood days of playing Monopoly, Sorry!, Risk, and many others; those are still popular, but it is quite remarkable how far the board game industry has come in the last few decades. Games are rich in strategy, probability, reading comprehension, storylines, teamwork, and more, and they fit all of that into a cardboard box that is as entertaining as it is enlightening.

To celebrate and enjoy these delightful games, students from fifth to eighth grade gather once a week for Board Game Club. The students generally learn a new game each week, and then spend the rest of the time playing and bonding with their classmates. It is quite a fine way to spend an afternoon, and we are fortunate that Eton students, families, and staff support and appreciate such endeavors.
