Mask Donation Drive is a Success Thanks to You!

Monica Maling, Director of Development

This donation drive was probably the most interesting one Eton School has ever done. Who would have ever thought there would be a universal need such as face masks?!

The Lower Elementary students brainstormed this idea while working with Mrs. Kessack, Eton’s School Counselor. They made posters and decorated boxes that we placed in the four buildings of Eton’s campus. When appeals went out on Eton’s social media sites, and through the Community Connection, students and their families stepped up! Remote students participated, too, and left masks at their designated packet pick-up spots.

Some Lower Elementary students counted all the donations and found 854 masks! They separated the masks so we can deliver the children’s masks to Eastside Baby Corner and the adult-sized masks to The Sophia Way and YouthCare. While counting and sorting, the students noticed some beautiful masks that people had carefully crafted by hand. All of the lovely donated masks will be appreciated by the people who will receive them.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated masks to help keep our greater community members safe! We are very grateful for your support of the students’ efforts to help others.
