The Seeds of Knowledge
"The secret of good teaching is to regard the child's intelligence as a fertile field in which seeds may be sown, to grow under the heat of flaming imagination." --Maria Montessori
Welcome back to school. We are ready to sow the seeds of knowledge and to dive into the fascinating world of The Power of Plants. Check out our Garden of Knowledge bulletin board to see our growth.
The Eton faculty recently enjoyed a trip to the Washington Arboretum. We spent a wonderful afternoon exploring the many amazing plants and trees there, and experiencing children's learning activities, including the collection of various seeds. It was very enlightening to see so many different varieties of seeds and know that each will sprout into a unique species, yet live side by side in harmony together. This concept of diversity and peace is certainly encompassed in the Montessori curriculum. We will definitely be going on a field trip to this magical place.
