The candidate's current school and/or teacher will be contacted for feedback and recommendation. In January/February, each applicant family with an application on file will call the admission office to schedule an assessment and interview appointment. Pre-elementary candidates are observed while working with age-appropriate materials; lower and upper elementary candidates are given a questionnaire and assessment. The family participates in an interview with the school's Director, at which questions will be asked and answered.

All pieces of information, including available openings, are considered when making decisions about student acceptances. Families interested in making a long-term commitment to the school are given priority, along with Eton siblings and elementary students with previous Montessori experience. Notification letters will be mailed the last week of March regarding status of acceptance to Eton School and obligation for registration and payment. A position is secured upon completion of the Enrollment Agreement and Reservation Payment of one-tenth of the annual tuition. Acceptance is conditional during the first month's attendance. All candidates accepted for fall enrollment are required to attend at least two weeks of morning summer school.
