Ages 6-9 (elementary)

The lower elementary years begin at age 6 and continue through age 9. This program builds upon the skills and knowledge gained in the previous three years. Math materials continue to move from the concrete to the abstract, even into square root and cube root. Guided discovery in geometry leads students to "discover" formulas and theorems. Language emphasizes creative writing, spelling, correct expressions and grammatical form. These are part of a larger, integrated curriculum which gives overviews of the development of the universe, solar system, life on Earth and civilization. The "world views" gained from this approach give students a framework into which all knowledge may be related.
