American Montessori Society (AMS)- an educational society founded in 1960 which includes developing Montessori programs, accrediting schools, granting credentials, encouraging research, organizing seminars and symposia, and promoting all other areas which relate to the dissemination of Montessori philosophy.

Association Montessori Internationale (AMI)- founded in 1929 by Dr. Maria Montessori. AMI provides guidance for training courses, guides the production of Montessori materials, oversees the publication of Dr. Montessori's books and organizes congresses and study conferences.

North American Montessori Teachers' Association (NAMTA) - founded in 1970 as an organization of Montessori teachers, administrators, and interested parents throughout North America. Its purpose is to maintain Montessori traditions while exploring the cutting edge of innovative education.
